The Rodney Block Collective wowed us at Rock Porch 5 years ago and we are thrilled they will be returning on June 6th. A classically trained trumpeter and instrumentalist, Rodney and his Collective quartet of musicians and a vocalist will present smooth jazz, soul, R&B, and much more!  Rodney, an Arkansas native, has been a staple of the Little Rock jazz and funk scene for many years. Bring your lawn chairs and coolers and enjoy the show. Food truck will be on site.

Kids Fishing Derby

Free fishing derby for kids at Lake Cortez pavilion, stocked by Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and sponsored by HSV Parks and Recreation, HSV Lakes Ecology and HSV Anglers Club. A limited amount of fishing poles will be available for use. Please bring your own fishing pole if you have one. The derby will end at approximately 10:30 AM. Registration is not required. Freedom 5k Fun Run and Walk

Saturday, July 4, 2026 - 7:30 AM CDT

“Join us on the 4th of July 2026 at Lake Balboa Beach in Hot Springs Village, AR for the annual Stars and Stripes Freedom 5k Run and 1k Walk. Check-in starts at 6:30a and the run begins at approximately 7:30a. All runners will receive a custom finisher’s medal and awards will be given for top 3 men’s and women’s finishers. We will have a strict field limit of 175 runners. All participants must sign a waiver. Links to the course map and waiver are below. Online Registration is $20 until July 2nd with onsite registration available for $25 July 3rd/4th. Early check-in/registration will take place in the garden area next to the Coronado Fitness Center from 4-6 on the 3rd of July.”

Fireworks Shuttle and Parking

See below for Information

Balboa Boat Ramp will close at 3 pm. The boat ramp will reopen after all pedestrians have left the area. There will be no boat trailer parking at Balboa Beach. NO EXCEPTIONS.  If you are intending to dock your boat in the lake, plan on parking your trailer at an alternate site.  PDL Center is available for this (1101 DeSoto Blvd.)

First-come parking is available at the beach parking lot until filled. Parking lot closes at 7 pm. Vehicles parked in this lot will experience delayed departure due to pedestrian traffic and will not be allowed out until all shuttles have left the area unless directed by police. Please disengage car alarms. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Restroom facilities will be available. Vehicles parked along the south side of Ponce de Leon Drive will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Ponce de Leon Drive will be closed from Magellan Drive to Balearic Road, including the Balboa Dam from 7 pm until 10:30 pm or until all shuttles have left the area. No vehicles will be allowed across the dam after 7 pm. No food or beverage will be available for purchase from the Dam site. Restroom facilities will be available.

Fireworks Shuttle Parking Locations: 

Balboa Baptist Church: Shuttle will run continuously from 5 pm until 8:30 pm and will continue at the conclusion of the show. Riders will be dropped off at Balboa Pavilion.

Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church will run continuously from 7 pm until 8:30pm and will be dropped off at the Balboa Dam. If you take this shuttle and want to view show from the beach, you will have to walk across.

Handicap parking and viewing will be available at Magellan Clubhouse beginning at 7p.  Bring your own chairs. There is no designated handicap parking area at Balboa Beach.
