Dinner will feature a cheeseburger basket with fries and a sundae bar for only $15.00, so get your tickets early as they are limited. All proceeds benefit the Village Community Foundation.

Becoming an Outdoors-Woman presented by Arkansas Game and Fish Commission

Becoming and Outdoors-Woman is an outdoor skills workshop for women. The object is to provide a non-threatening atmosphere where women can have fun that will enhance their enjoyment of Arkansas Outdoors. Sarah Baxter the Becoming an Outdoors Woman Coordinator will explain the program as well as lead activities with in the program. The program covers a large area of outdoor activities such as; basic fire arm safety, rifle marksmanship, archery, fishing, survival skills, outdoor photography, canoeing/kayaking, bird watching, and much more. Take advantage on this introductory class that is being brought to Hot Springs Village. Class is limited in size so please sign up early. Please dress appropriately because part of the program will be outdoors. If inclement weather, class will be moved into the auditorium for the outdoor portion. This is a free event but ticket is required.

Ouachita Speaker Series presents Holocaust Survivor

On March 9th, the Ouachita Speaker Series is proud to present Theodora Klayman, a Holocaust Survivor. You’ll learn of family arrest, deportation, life in hiding, being found and sent to Auschwitz and Klayman’s eventual liberation and life in the United States, where she worked for 30 years as a Maryland school teacher. This event was arranged through the United States Memorial Holocaust Museum. Join us as we hear her incredible story of survival! This event is being underwritten by Arvest Bank.

Beginning wine making for the wine enthusiast, class taught by local Vintner, Joan Archer. Why buy wine when you can make it yourself? Learn the process of making wine from fermenting to bottling. Six fun-filled classes and at the end you or couple will leave with two bottles of a high quality wine. Classes limited to 14 Vintners. Class schedule is as follows: March 14: Introduction, Wine tasting from wine kits primary fermentation March 21: Raking the wine March 31: Degassing the wine April 11: Stabilizing and clarifying April 25: Bottling – filtering or not, bottling wine and corking bottles; includes additional wine tasting April 29: Finishing the bottle – applying foil caps and labels, proper storage. Knife Skills and Fruit Carving with Karla Nardi, BA, CHE

Karla will begin the workshop by teaching knife skills in the kitchen, which will include proper sharpening. In the morning session, she will teach you how to carve small fruits and vegetables. In the afternoon, you will learn how to carve various sizes and types of melons. At the end of the workshop, you will have learned beautiful ways to dress up your tables to impress friends and family. You will need to bring a chef’s and paring knife and a wood cutting board. You may want to bring an apron. Bring your own sack lunch or purchase a boxed lunch. $40 for property owners/$50 for non-property owners, + sales tax.

The Balboa Yacht Club and the Hot Spring Village Property Owner’s Association Recreation Department invite all member who own or use boats on any of the Hot Springs Village Lakes to a free boater safety class, presented by David Keyser of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. This is a one hour class designed to inform and remind boaters of best safe boating practices on Hot Springs Village Lakes. Light Refreshments will be served, and vender displays and giveaways will be available as well. The class will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 9:00 AM at the Coronado Center.
