HSVEscape Room – Lost Santa! Santa is taking off in one hour and he has lost the map to Hot Springs Village- jump in the room and help out this confused and nervous Santa. Good luck.

Mystery Dinner - A Pop Up Event

Are you ready for a new year? How about a new Mystery Dinner adventure? Hot Springs Village POA Recreation Department is proud the bring you the first Pop-Up Dinner of 2019! Join us for this very unique and exclusive event sponsored by Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church. Due to very limited seating, this event is for HSVPOA members only. Parking and direction details will be revealed to ticket purchasers at approximately 3 PM on the day of the event. The mystery is the location and ambiance. This dinner includes fish in the menu. This is not a mystery theater event. Bring your sense of adventure! Tickets are on sale through January 6 for only $30 each plus tax, and are limited to 24 – so don’t delay!

 

Healthy Eating/Nutritional Food Preparation

Oaklawn Center on Aging and the Coronado Center presents Nutritional Food Preparation. The Oaklawn Center on Aging will teach you how to better prepare your food and improve your nutrition. The class will take place on Thursday January 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st at 10:30 AM at the Coronado Community Center. Taking this class will be a great way to help you eat healthier. Tickets are $10 per class or $35 for all 4 sessions.

 

HSVCA - Dallas String Quartet

The Hot Springs Village Concerts Association presents Dallas String Quartet. DSQ Electric is an international music sensation with a fusion of classical and contemporary music. The Wall Street Journal, A&E, WFAA-ABC, and ESPN have all featured Dallas String Quartet Electric. In addition to performing internationally, DSQ has performed “at home” for Presidents Obama and Bush, The College Football Playoff, NBA and NFL Organizations. DSQ has sold out venues like the House of Blues and Symphony Halls alike. They have played alongside Josh Groban, Chicago and the trans-Siberian Orchestra. Comprised of composer and violinist Ion Zanca, violinists Eleanor Dunbar and Melissa Priller, Bassist Young Heo, guitarist Anthony Plant and percussionist/drummer Efren Guzman, DSQ takes you on a journey to the nexus of classical music and modern pop where artists like Beethoven and Bono collide. “This is not your Grandmother’s String Quartet”- Wall Street Journal. They will perform at the Woodlands Auditorium January 16, 17 and 18, 2019. Showtime is 7:30 pm and General Admission Tickets are $30.

 

Bourbon and Burgers

Stop in January 24th at 5pm before the Ten Penny Gypsy concert and keep warm with gourmet burgers grilled on site and a toppings bar to make it is just how you like it. Flavored bourbon will be available for tasting. Each tasting ticket comes with 6 flavors to choose from and 6 tasting shots (not full shots). Full bar will be open. Tickets are $15 for gourmet burger bar and $25 for burger bar and bourbon tasting. Tickets to the Ten Penny Gypsy concert will be available at the door and online for purchase.

 

Ten Penny Gypsy - Winter at the Woodlands

Justin Patterson and Laura Lynn Danley, aka Ten Penny Gypsy, have been following the beat of their own drum for years. A fortuitous, chance encounter at a songwriter showcase in Arkansas changed their destiny and direction, and this alt-country Americana duo was formed. Ten Penny Gypsy was honored to be among the final top five nominees in three categories for the 2018 Arkansas Country Music Awards: “Album of the Year”, “Americana/Roots Artist of the Year”, and “Vocal Group of the Year”. “Justin reminds me of what would happen if James Taylor and Gordon Lightfoot had a love child”, muses David Hughes, a promoter with Unknown Legends Artists in Hot Springs, AR. “He writes insightful, heartfelt, and intelligent lyrics. His songs can be haunting one minute and turn rockabilly the next. He is a refreshing voice and talented writer”. The latter could also be said of his musical partner, Laura Lynn Danley who is very reminiscent of Tammy Wynette or Joni Mitchell. She has an intriguing and infectious personality, with a vulnerability that draws you in. Hot Springs Village POA presents Ten Penny Gypsy at the Woodlands Auditorium on January 24th at 7pm. Branson's "Mr Entertainment" Doug Gabriel

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Hot Springs Village is proud to present the return of Branson’s “Mr. Entertainment” Doug Gabriel in concert to celebrate Valentine’s Day! The concert will be held at the Woodlands Auditorium on Friday, February 15 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are General Admission for only $25! Doug was recently named Branson’s 2018 Entertainer of the Year. He is Branson’s most awarded performer, having won multiple awards such as twelve time Male Vocalist of the Year, nine time Morning Show of the Year and four time Instrumentalist of the Year. Doug sings all styles of music, from Country to Rock and Gospel to Patriotic.

 

The Remnants of Rock - Winter at the Woodlands

Rock and Roll was born in the late 1950s, and by the end of the 1960s, the music had produced such legends as Elvis Presley, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Motown and the Memphis sound. The consensus among historians is that the greatest popular music of all time was created during this ten-year period. Unquestionably, the music defined a generation and continues to be embraced by younger generations. The Remnants of Rock, formerly known as The St. James Group, formed in 1968 in the middle of this historic era. The band shared the stage with some of the biggest artists of the 1970s and performed on college campuses from New Orleans to Chicago and all points in between. They also engaged in recording projects for United Artists and Mercury Records. Imagine walking into the student union for the homecoming dance on any college campus during the years 1965-1969 and hearing the best dance band you’ve ever heard! Close your eyes and think back, because this is the performance The Remnants will deliver. Hot Springs Village POA presents The Remnants of Rock at the Woodlands Auditorium on February 21st at 7pm.
